6th October – World Cerebral Palsy Day
World Cerebral Palsy (CP) Day is a movement of people with cerebral palsy and their families, and the organizations that support them, in more than 60 countries. The World CP Day Committee works actively to support countries around the world to take action to improve the lives of people with CP and their families – https://worldcpday.org/about-us/committee/.
The World CP Day is a great occasion to discuss and analyze your own approach, your team and your institution approach to cerebral palsy problems and to reestablish the importance of some particular aspects of treatment, the dose and the intensity of it, to make the life of your patients more free from medical care and more involved, to stimulate their participation in the regular life.
ESPRM is deeply involved in scientific and social initiatives and events devoted to Cerebral Palsy problems. Examples include activities of:
- Special Interest Scientific Committee for PRM in children chaired by Wilhelmus (Wim) Jansen- http://www.esprm.net/committees-details/HMuMsQ/prm-children
- initiative of Evidence Based Position Paper on Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine Professional Practice for persons with Cerebral Palsy (UEMS PRM Section – https://www.euro-prm.org/index.php?lang=en),
